Tan Hill Inn to Kirkstone Pass Inn              Yorkshire Dales - Lakes

The 120 mile epic of linking the two highest pubs in England, the Tan Hill Inn and the Cat and Fiddle Inn, was established in 1952 by the Rucsack Club.  This outing is a more modest but much more varied pub crawl from the first to the third highest pub at 1732 feet and 1481 feet respectively. It involves climbing 18 tops, crossing some 45 miles of arduous terrain and ascending 11000' in an inspiring traverse notable for including some wild, less frequented stretches of the Yorkshire Dales and the Lakes.  There is no time limit but arriving at the Kirkstone Inn before last orders will be sufficient incentive for most runners!  Pete Simpson devised the route and completed it as a solo supported run in 2006 in a time of 13 hours 36 minutes.

Route

The start is at the Tan Hill Inn (GR 896067) and the finish at Kirkstone Inn (GR 401082). The route must visit the following 18 summits:
